Failed experiment
I've been working on bookmarks lately for the Crochetville bookmark swap and noticed that everyone pretty much makes the same bookmarks since we're all accessing the same free patterns on the internet.
I decided to try doing some vintage motifs in size 80 thread, put a tassel and chain on the diagonal and call it a bookmark.
It didn't work.
You can see from the unblocked results above that my idea failed. Even in size 80 and a strand of metallic blue thread it's too large for a bookmark.
Sigh. I don't know what to do with it now - I'm certainly not going to make any more of them!

Couldn't you make one of those little pineapples and add a tassel? Instead of the whole square?
Could you experiment with changing the stitches? If the pattern calls for triples, use doubles. Change doubles to half doubles. Might work, depending on the pattern's original size and how much smaller those changes would make it.
